Day 1 of our trip

Weve made it to Germany! After our long flight we walked into the Altstadt (old town area) of Heidelberg so we could walk up to the ruins of the Heidelberg Schloss(castle). The castle was the regional seat of power from the 1400 to 1700. The castle was damaged first in battles during the 1700's then by fire caused by a lightening strike. After a few false starts, rain showers (note all the new umberellas in pic one) and toilet stops we finally made it into the Castle grounds. The walk helped to keep our mind off our loss of sleep. Off to the European Junior and Young rider champs tomorrow after a visit to the Brookhouse stud home of stallions including Wie Weltmeyer, Diamond Hit and many others.

Hey Everyone....YAY!! I'm finally here. Thanks Jenny. Oh, and thanks guys for trying to help me set it all up. Its tricky stuff this computing.

Ok, well what to say,what to say.

My name is Robbie but just call me Robs or Sos. I have two horses Robali Royal Salute (right) and

Robali Irish Cream (Top).

Louie (Irish Cream) is training Grand Prix and I'm currently competing him at Inter 1. Hes a funny character....we always call him the perfectionist. He spends his whole training sessions trying to guess whats next, or doing his absolute best....hes funny because if he doesn't understand something he gets stroppy with himself. He always makes me think of a french man with a beret, hes a charmer. My pride and Joy. He has a story behind him too, rather special how we got him, but that can be for later days.

Snoopy (Royal Salute) is at Medium level and training Advanced. He too has a funny character, hes an absolute sook. Kisses galore and always wants to be near you. Hes a spunky fellow, but a bit of a worrier. He makes me think of Danny off Grease, with the spunky too cool side of him.

Anyway talking gibberish, but that's my boys.

I cant wait for this trip....its a little scary , as i am staying over there for 4 months but it will be great. I went over last year with mum for WEG. For those of you who haven't been to Germany, get excited.... Its AWESOME!!!! Horse lovers heaven.

Anyway, ill off and clear.

Guten Tag meine neue Freundinnen!

It's great to see you here!!! Look forward to meeting/catching up with you all.

Well, seeing as you've all put up gorgeous photos of your horses I thought I better do the same... I can't resist an opportunity to show them off, I'm so proud of them!

Bobby, the midget bay has been with me since I was 11, he hadn't even passed his 3rd birthday when we bought him. He's now at medium/advanced and when he's at his best, can hold his own at Clarendon against the big boys and girls. He's training FEI and will passage until the cows come home! Not bad for a 14.3hh Polish Arabian (I'm not sure if he likes Germans). He loves playing tip and soccer and is obsessed with witches hats, rakes, Omo bottles that are tied to the fence, attention from anyone and everyone and of course food in all forms (he even ate my ham sandwich... Silly horse).

The black warmblood is my rising four year old gelding by Rotspon (And I'm not sure if he likes the Polish!). Would you believe his pet name is Robbie? Trust me, his real name is Rob Roy! He was bred by Andrea Beatty (who owns PSI De Caprio and Donner Carina). His dam (APH Feuerfest) carries the famous Trakehner 'F line'. His grandsire is APH Heidelberg who has strong Trakehner lines through Anduc and Marduc. He's been broken in for seven months and was entered to compete at Clarendon. Unfortunately because it was washed out and postponed, I'll miss his first show! He's going quite well and he's an absolute joy to ride, his canter feels like hes flying!
